Group Training for Food Service Teams Across Texas

Compliance-focused, people-centered training for restaurants, food trucks, caterers, schools, and more — designed for real Texas kitchens.

Tap & Table’s group training is designed for Texas food businesses and organizations that need to keep entire teams compliant — not just single employees. Whether you manage a small café or a multi-site operation, we help you organize training, track completion, and stay inspection-ready. We serve:

  • Independent restaurants and family-owned eateries
  • Multi-unit restaurant groups and franchises
  • Food trucks and ghost kitchens
  • Caterers and event venues
  • Bars, breweries, and nightlife venues
  • Hotels and hospitality groups
  • Schools, churches, and community programs with food service

Our Food Handler, Food Manager, and TABC courses are currently in the process of preparing the application for course approval by TX DSHS. Group enrollments and certificates will open once approvals are granted by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and TABC.

Built for Busy Teams, Not Just Individuals
Tap & Table’s group training is designed for Texas food businesses and organizations that need to keep entire teams compliant — not just single employees. Whether you manage a small café or a multi-site operation, we help you organize training, track completion, and stay inspection-ready. These teams include:

  • Independent restaurants and family-owned eateries
  • Retail establishments where food and/or alcohol are served
  • Multi-unit restaurant groups and franchises
  • Food trucks and ghost kitchens
  • Caterers and event venues
  • Bars, breweries, and nightlife venues
  • Hotels and hospitality groups
  • Schools, churches, and community programs with food service

Once state approvals are finalized, Tap & Table will offer flexible options so you can train your staff the way that fits your operation best:

  • Online, self-paced courses for employees
Staff can complete Food Handler, Food Manager, or TABC courses online from any device, on their schedule.

  • Group enrollment codes
Purchase a block of seats and distribute unique codes to your employees. You’ll be able to see who has started and who has finished.

  • Downloadable completion records
Easily download certificates and training rosters to keep on file for health inspections and internal audits. Texas rules require food employees to complete an accredited food handler course within 30 days of starting work, so organized records matter.

  • Optional live support & Q&A (future add-on)
As Tap & Table grows, we plan to offer live virtual group sessions and Q&A for high-risk operations or new managers who want extra support.

Until approvals are officially granted, we will not be accepting paid enrollments or issuing certificates. However, you can reserve your spot on our Group Launch List and start planning your rollout.

Why Teams Choose Tap & Table?
Most training providers stop at “check the box.” Tap & Table is built by a future Dietitian and public health professional with real food service and compliance experience in Texas. Our focus is to make training:

  • Texas-specific and compliance-first – Content reflects Texas rules and FDA Food Code fundamentals in plain language your staff can actually use on the line.

  • Designed for real kitchens – Examples, scenarios, and questions are written from the point of view of cooks, servers, bartenders, and managers in busy operations.

  • Multilingual access – Planned roll-out in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Chinese, released in phases as each language version is completed and approved.

  • Small-business-friendly – Flexible group options that work even if you don’t have an HR department or training team.

  • Audit-minded – Records and templates that make health inspections and internal audits less stressful.

Every Group Package Includes…

  • Centralized group enrollment (seats purchased once, assigned as needed)
  • Easy tracking of who started, who finished, and who still needs training
  • Downloadable certificates and rosters you can store for inspection files (post-approval)
  • Suggested onboarding checklist you can adapt for new hires
  • Optional templates for policies, logs, and reminder notices (future add-ons)

How Scheduling & Pricing Will Work
We’re finalizing pricing for group packages so we can keep training affordable for small teams while still supporting larger organizations.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Tiered pricing by headcount (for example: 5–25, 26–50, 51–100+ employees)
  • Discounts for multi-course bundles (Food Handler + Food Manager + TABC)
  • Options for pre-paid codes so employees can enroll themselves
  • Potential partner pricing for chambers, workforce boards, and community organizations

If you’d like to be notified when group pricing is finalized — or if you have a specific headcount in mind — join our Group Launch List and share a few details. We’ll contact you before we open to the public.
